New Mexico Hosts Its First-Ever Tech Week, Riding a Wave of Quantum Innovation and Venture Capital Momentum

Inaugural statewide celebration arrives as New Mexico venture capital investment climbs 50% year-over-year. From New Mexico is set to host its first-ever New Mexico Tech Week (NMTW), a five-day celebration of technology and innovation, on October 26-31, 2026. The event is expected to attract over 2,000 attendees, 200 speakers, and 50+ partner organizations across Albuquerque and Santa Fe. The week will include a quantum hackathon, startup workshops, Founders Day, a film festival, and venture-focused panels. Events are independently-organized by members of the New Mexican tech community and most are free to attend. In May 2026, New Mexico's Economic Development Department launched a $25 million state-backed New Mexico Quantum Venture Studio, which follows the launch of ABQ-Net, America’s first open-access, entanglement-based quantum network. Since 2019, New Mexican has added 6 gigawatts of renewable capacity, created 14,000 clean-energy jobs, and attracted over $10 billion in private investment.
