Albuquerque Woman to Be Sentenced After Son's Fatal Shooting
She told her teenage son to pull the trigger. Now an Albuquerque mother faces sentencing for murder. Albuquerque woman Munah Green is set to be sentenced to up to 12 years in prison after pleading no contest to second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit second-degrees. The case stems from a confrontation outside an apartment complex on April 24, 2025, which left 32-year-old Richard Powell dead at the scene. Police allege that Green turned to her then-17-year son, Rickey Rodgers, and directed him to fire shots at Powell, before Rodgers fired additional shots after Powell fell to the ground. Green and Rodgers were initially charged with an open count of murder and a conspiracy to murder, but changed their plea in September. Rodgers is now scheduled for an amenability hearing separate from Green's sentencing.
