Albuquerque Weather Forecast: Flash Flood Watch, Storms Saturday
Albuquerque's Saturday forecast is a serious one: thunderstorms, flood risk and possible hail and damaging winds. A warmer, sunnier stretch arrives next week, but Saturday plans may need a backup plan. Albuquerque is expected to be hit with showers, thunderstorms and possible flooding, with a Flash Flood Watch in effect from 6 a.m. Saturday through early Sunday. The National Weather Service warns that rainfall rates could exceed an inch per hour in stronger storms, while heavier totals are possible in parts of the Albuquerque area. The forecast also includes a continued chance of storms through the evening, but thunderstorms may produce stronger, erratic outflow winds along with large hail and, in isolated cases, a tornado. Showers and thunderstorms are likely Saturday night, with the low near 50 degrees and a 70% chance of precipitation. Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high near 68, followed by sunny skies and highs close to 70 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
